Introduction: EXPERIENCE THE MATRIX THROUGH THE EYES OF THE ONE AND DECIDE YOUR OWN PATH. The Matrix: Path of Neo is an action game that allows players to relive some key moments from the Matrix films. THE MATRIX: PATH OF NEO marks the second collaboration of Atari and its Shiny Entertainment development studio with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment; the Wachowski Brothers, creators of The Matrix trilogy; and Joel Silver, producer of the trilogy. In May 2003, Atari released ENTER THE MATRIX, a parallel timeline to THE MATRIX RELOADED and a bridge to THE MATRIX REVOLUTIONS, which debuted at #1 atop gaming charts around the world and has sold nearly 6 million units worldwide to date. Since gamers first set eyes on the THE MATRIX, they have wanted to be and play as Neo. THE MATRIX: PATH OF NEO is the only place players will be able to do just that. The path, the results, the responses and the story will be written and directed by the Wachowski Brothers. The vision for the game is for the gamer to handle the challenges that Neo faced. Players can control their gaming outcome and find solutions to challenges Neo faced in the films that differ from how he handled it they can truly make the Matrix experience their own. From the moment the game starts Neo the player is in control. Set in the Matrix film universe, THE MATRIX: PATH OF NEO will enable players to actually play as "Neo," the central character, and relive his most important and memorable scenarios from the complete film trilogy.. Throughout the game the path the player takes to resolve each scenario and the resulting consequences will be scripted and directed by the Wachowski Brothers. The likenesses of all of the films' key actors -- including Keanu Reeves (Neo), Laurence Fishburne (Morpheus), Carrie-Ann Moss (Trinity), and Hugo Weaving (Agent Smith) are included in THE MATRIX: PATH OF NEO, which will also incorporate footage from all three feature films, as well as THE ANIMATRIX. The game includes several sequences of film-quality live-action, full-motion footage (FMV), as well as Hollywood-quality effect sequences. Throughout the games players will use martial arts, medieval weapons and guns (lots of guns) to take on a variety of enemies, such as heavily armed Agents of the Matrix, including Agent Smith and Exiles in the employ of the Merovingian. |
Features: The experience of being "the One" and facing the challenges that Neo faced in the movies will not be an entirely familiar one. Many scenarios encountered in The Matrix: Path of Neo are exclusive to the game and were not seen or experienced in the films. The game will have the same "Bullet Time" special effects from the films that will allow gamers to dodge bullets and jump off walls to defy gravity and logic to recreate its most memorable scenes. Gamers will experience new powers such as flying, telekinesis and "Neo Vision," the ability to read code as they evolve as Neo and become "the One". All-new FMV footage has been created, directed and edited by the Wachowski Brothers. The game features more than one hour of re-edited movie footage from the original film to tell the story from Neo's point of view like a director's cut in a video game. Amazing new characters and locations not seen in the films that expand the Matrix storyline through the end of THE Matrix Revolutions. All new music has been composed as synth-produced sketches, which will be tweaked and implemented into the game build. The game also includes the martial arts choreography of Yuen Wo Ping and enhances the already extensive libraries of moves that were originally recorded for the trilogy. Additional sessions were recorded to capture even more moves to ensure that gamers would have an authentic experience as Neo. |
